DEAR BROTHER

Dear Brother

Dear brother in burnoose,
dear dad in business suit:
We ain’t gonna make much progress,
till someone gives a hoot.
You just can’t hide your monkey,
can’t hide your fearful eyes
by putting on a show of force
along with your disguise.
You can shave
and puff your chest out,
n wear a regimental tie
but you’re gonna be buck naked
when you meet the One on High.
You can posture, scream and holler,
pound your fist and bare your teeth.
But on top is skin and culture styles;
We're all alike here underneath.
